RIDE THE NOISE

“Drums, synths and performance to open perception and transform noise into space”

An immersive and hypnotic experience where sound and performance merge into a journey through rhythm, frequencies and visions. Let yourself be carried by the music and follow the sound towards a more open horizon.

Ride The Noise is Dan Cavalca’s electro-acoustic project: an immersive live performance where acoustic drums and synthesisers meet through loops, improvisation, effects and sound manipulation.

A single musician builds a constantly evolving soundscape, where the physicality and movement of the drums meet the depth and expansiveness of synthesisers. A balance between acoustic matter and electronic futurism, between rhythm and atmosphere.

Ride The Noise is not about escape, but about opening up perception. In a world dominated by speed and distraction, music becomes a space in which to slow down, breathe, move and reconnect with our own sensitivity and with the beauty of the world.

Through original compositions and reinterpretations, sound leads the audience on a journey from closure to openness, from noise to wonder.

An experience to listen to, move through and live.

Biography

Dan Cavalca began his musical training at the age of 6, studying drums at the “C.Orff” Music School in Gattatico RE (Italy). His journey led him to the Conservatory of Parma, where he graduated with top honours in percussion in 2009. He then moved to Milan to further develop his timpani and percussion studies at the International Academy of Music, while also deepening his drum studies with Marco Volpe. Later, he won a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he graduated in 2013 in drums and jazz composition.

Over the years, he has collaborated in various artistic contexts, developing a professional versatility that includes roles as a percussionist, drummer, arranger, producer, and music educator. His background combines a strong classical and orchestral training with extensive experience in jazz, contemporary, pop, rock and electronic music. Since 2008, he has worked as a session musician and collaborated on a wide range of musical projects and productions. In 2014, he participated as a drummer, keyboardist, and sound designer in the multimedia show Basetrack Live, which toured the United States.

Settling in New York, he performed at venues such as Rockwood Music Hall and the Village Vanguard, working with various pop, rock, and jazz projects. Returning to Italy in 2016, he launched his solo project, performing across Northern Italy and participating twice at the NAMM Show in Los Angeles. He collaborated with RAI percussionist Claudio Scolari, recording ten Modern Jazz albums that received excellent reviews from jazz magazines worldwide.

Since then, Cavalca has continued to work across different musical fields as a drummer, percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer and sound designer, collaborating with artists, labels and projects in Italy and abroad. His work spans live performance, studio production, contemporary music and multimedia projects, reflecting a constant exploration between acoustic and electronic sound. He has also collaborated on several film and audiovisual soundtracks in Italy.

In 2023, he toured Germany for four months with Abba The Show. In 2024, his distinctive approach to combining drums and synthesisers attracted the attention of Italian pop artist Biagio Antonacci, leading to an invitation to join his tour and perform in prestigious locations including Taormina and Pompeii.

Today, Cavalca continues to develop his artistic research through projects that combine drums, synthesisers, improvisation, electronic sound and live performance, with a focus on creating immersive and constantly evolving musical experiences.
