WhisperDRUMS to appear at The Europe Drum Show 2027

today2 September, 2026

Background

“Music is often not found beautiful, because it is always associated with noise.”

The noise itself is usually not the problem, it is the volume that makes it one. That is why we have set ourselves the goal of making the (music) world a little quieter. Our heads and drums are about 20 decibels quieter than a normal drum kit. Specifically, this means you can: practice, rehearse and teach without hearing protection, teach in a school without disturbing school operations, practice at home without disturbing the neighbours, accompany a choir without a volume problem, play properly ‘ unplugged’, i.e. with unamplified instruments or vocals, you can really rock out even in small venues, and still comply with noise regulations.

IDEA & DEVELOPMENT

Every drum teacher will know the situation: an enthusiastic child with bright eyes and the parents next to them with furrowed brows: “Can you get it quiet too?!?”

That was the basic idea. A normal drum kit that offers all the possibilities for practice and is nevertheless quieter. Whisper Drums are about 20 decibels quieter than conventional kits. This corresponds approximately to the volume reduction provided by hearing protection plugs. WhisperDRUMS can be used almost anywhere where a
conventional kit is too loud, or where it would be desirable to have something quieter. Not only practicing at home, teaching, etc. is possible. WhisperDRUMS are also ideal in schools, rehearsal rooms and smaller concert venues.

APPLICATIONS

With WhisperDRUMS, you can practice at a comfortable volume without the need for elaborate noise protection measures and teach without earplugs. To play along with play-alongs, there is no need for a medium-sized P.A. anymore. Even less experienced players can use WhisperDRUMS in schools to accompany the class choir at a comfortable volume. Band rehearsal no longer becomes a volume competition. The guitarists’ excuse that they have to adapt to the drums no longer holds.

For very small performances, accompaniment can be completely unplugged. The volume is at the level of piano, acoustic guitar and vocals. Despite the reduction of 20 decibels, the end result naturally depends on the drummer’s playing style! In smaller venues, rock bands are often too loud. The drums thunder down from the stage and the sound engineer can only adjust the rest of the band reasonably well. WhisperDRUMS can also be miked and embedded into the overall sound. This allows the sound engineer to work with the sounds. Up to a certain size and volume, this works well. The quieter the stage sound, the better it works. Users of InEar systems have an advantage.

CONCLUSION

Drummers who normally play with hearing protection are generally enthusiastic about WhisperDRUMS. As are fellow musicians who wear hearing protection. With WhisperDRUMS, you can namely do without it and the sound quality gets better.
