Darby is one of the busiest session drummers in the UK. He has been touring extensively around the world for the last four years with Devin Townsend, playing drums on Devin’s last two albums Powernerd and Lightwork, as well as Devin’s Orchestral epic, The Moth, due out in 2026.

Darby has also been playing live with Dream Theater keys player Jordan Rudess, including playing all the drums on Jordan’s latest album Permission to Fly.

Other recent work includes five years touring with Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre, shows with Alfie Boe, Albums with Charlie Griffiths and Swedish prog Legends Kaipa, amongst others.

Other work includes The Darkness, appearances with Robin Ford, Robert Plant, Carl Verheyen (Supertramp), Kee Marcello (Europe), Don Airey and many others.
