Steve Smith, who is also appearing on the Main Stage Saturday 29th of March at The Europe Drum Show, will also be offering guests a masterclass in the Mike Dolbear Room Sunday 30th March at 12 noon with Insights on Brush Playing + Solo Hi-Hat Moves. Steve Smith’s drumming, while decidedly modern, can best be described as a style that embodies the history of U.S. music. Steve is active as a bandleader (Steve Smith and Vital Information) as a featured sideman (Mike Stern Group, Zakir Hussain’s Masters of Percussion, Steps Ahead, Hiromi-The Trio Project) and as an educator/clinician.

Martina is a drummer and musician who in her considerably short career has gained notable achievements. Deep and thoughtful yet energetic and playful, her style reflects her love of modern music and her fascination with the power of the drums. Throughout the years, she has maintained continuous growth of success preaching individuality, quality, and persistency. Winning an award for the best drummer at “T’k Tak” drum competition when she was only 17 was followed by many successful music projects. She is actively involved in North Macedonia’s music scene, currently working and touring with Funk Shui.

Thumbnail Simon Gattringer

Simon Gattringer was born on 27.05.1986 in Linz / Austria. Simon got his first drum set at the age of 6 years, from his uncle, who also made him more and more enthusiastic about music. After autodidactic drum playing followed some years of lessons at the Upper Austrian Landesmusikschulwerk and at the Music School Linz. In 2008 Simon was awarded as the best young drummer of Austria. After studying at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, he completed the “Popkurs” at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama. Afterward, a new chapter in his musical career began.

Thumbnail Leon Dorn

Leon Dorn is a session drummer living in Berlin, Germany. Since the age of 4, he received lessons on drums and classical drums. After successfully playing different classical drumming competitions in Germany he decided to focus on drumset only at the age of 13. Next to taking lessons with various teachers and visiting workshops with drummers such as Anika Nilles, Benny Greb, Jost Nickel and Jojo Mayer he started studying drums at Berufsfachschule für Musik Mittelfranken in Dinkelsbuehl in 2017, where he took lessons with Claus Hessler. In 2019 he got accepted at Popakademie Mannheim, where he also studied drums.
