See Ralf on Saturday at 10:30 on the digitalDrummer E-Drum Lab Stage
After a successful debut at last year’s show, 2023 digitalDrummer E-drummer of the Year Ralf Schumacher returns to Friedrichshafen to share his drumming skills, e-drum knowledge and huge stage presence.
Schumacher has been working as a professional drummer for more than 20 years, accumulating experience from hundreds of concerts and recording studio sessions with various artists/bands from almost every musical genre.
He is perhaps best known as a content creator and brand ambassador for various drum and cymbal companies (including Sonor drums, Agean Cymbals, Roland v-drums, EFNOTE/Hyperactive Audio, GEWA and Yamaha.
Appearing with an Efnote Pro kit, Schumacher will show off the latest module sounds, explain the audio set-up options and share his insights into using e-drums in a studio production environment, content creation and in live performance situations.
EFNOTE is a Japanese e-drum manufacturer, founded in 2018 by former employees of one of the leaders in the e-drum industry. EFNOTE’s e-drum sets provide an unparalleled playing experience and prioritise professional playing and sound quality. The product range offers a comprehensive spectrum for various applications, whether at home, in the practice room, on stage, or in the recording studio.
The EFNOTE PRO Series – be inspired
With its open system architecture, the module allows a variety of configurations to meet the individual requirements of drummers. The system consists of an e-drum module and a separate stagebox, which together form a single unit. The latter offers trigger inputs for up to eight drums and seven cymbals, as well as 12 XLR individual outputs, monitor inputs and headphone connections. With the bus mixer in the module, a pad or group can be freely assigned to each of the 12 outputs. In addition, each bus channel is equipped with a 2-band equaliser and a compressor, ensuring flexible adjustment of the sound image. Of course, all sounds can be edited in advance by means of pitch adjustment, equaliser or muffling. In addition, the stage box has three ground lift switches, one each for outputs 1-6, 7-12 and the monitor input. As usual from the Japanese manufacturer EFNOTE, the e-drum sets are confusingly similar to acoustic drums. All drums are made of 6-ply birch wood and equipped with a special multi-trigger technology. This means that not only the appearance, but also the feel, response and sound behaviour are absolutely realistic. This also applies to the cymbal pads, as they can be played over the entire surface and have a natural vibration behaviour.
